pro-ana and pro-mia
pro-ana sites are sites that promote anorexia and show others how to perform and conceal acts of anorexia. pro-mia sites are basically the same, except that these sites are for bulimia. an example of what are on these sites is the pro ana boot camp. this diet suggests that you can only have 500 calories a day for 50 days. however, the pro-ana and pro-mia sites have changed a lot. many people have fought to take those sites off and replace them with the new and improved sites that only create a support system for sufferers of this illness. this topic is what i will be writing about for my rogerian arguement. i will be talking about how people with an eating disorder saw these sites as a support system, but they were hurting more than helping. the new sites are so much more healthy and helpful.

opposing views
there are obviously people in this world who do not think that eating disoders are a big deal. they think it is just a fad. then shouldn't schizophrenia be considered a fad? or bi-poloar disorder? eating disorders are mental illnesses! i think that a lot of people look at the olsen twins or lindsay lohan and think that society pressures have gotten to that. but that is not the only reason!
